Zazen
Zazen practice is conducted in the same manner as zazen practice in a monastery. The unique feature of Tesshu Zenkai is that those who wish to participate in zazen meetings on a continuous basis are given Koan by the master, which they can work on in order to enhance their practice.
Of course, first-timers are also welcome.

Friday night zazen meetings, Saturday zazen meetings, and Sunday zen talk meetings are held.

Sesshin

The third Wednesday through Sunday of each month is designated as the sesshin period, during which time the participants stay overnight and engage in ascetic practice.
On weekdays, participants will travel from our dojo—located near Shinjuku—to their respective workplaces. While this program is primarily intended for those who have been given a koan, others are also welcome to participate. Please attend a few zazen sessions first, and then contact us to discuss your participation and apply. (Please note, however, that participation may not be possible depending on circumstances.)

Sunday Zen Talks

Once a month, on a Sunday.
A brief zazen instruction, Dharma talk by the master, and tea ceremony will start your activities of the week.

On Sunday mornings at the beginning of the week, why not refresh your mind and body with light zazen and a Dharma talk, followed by 15 minutes of zazen and a 30-minute Zen talk by the abbot, followed by a tea party.
