When you hear the word "Zen," you probably think it is difficult to understand. We will hold a "Zen Calligraphy" workshop in the hope that through writing "Zen Calligraphy," you will get a sense of what Zen is trying to convey and use it to help you in your daily life.
It will be held after the Sunday Zen talk meeting, which is generally held on the fourth Sunday of each month, from around 09:30 to 11:30.
You may or may not attend the Sunday Zen Talks. Anyone from elementary school students to adults can participate. We will provide the necessary tools, so please feel free to look around.
At the Zen Calligraphy Club, participants will write three or four letters on a large piece of paper (half-slice) with a large brush. First-time calligraphers will be guided by a model.
In the beginning, I write as I see fit.
Next time, I'll just write slower and at the same speed.
Finally, write slowly and at the same speed while holding the brush upright.
Compare and appreciate the three finished works by yourself. You will probably notice a difference in the power of each line. It is not about whether the lines are good or not, but about how much life has been breathed into the lines.
