Zazen meeting schedule for June

Zazen meeting on Saturday, July 26 will be cancelled.

Tesshuu Reissue No. 76 is now available.

Sunday, December 28th will be cancelled due to the end of the year. The next Zen talk will be held on Sunday, January 25.

We would like to announce the schedule for the zazen sessions. We look forward to seeing you there.

Friday Night Zazen Sessions: the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
Saturday Zazen Sessions: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st
Sunday Zen Talk Session: 25th
November:
★There will be no Friday night zazen on November 20 or Saturday zazen on November 21.
Friday Night Zazen Sessions: the 6th, 13th, and 27th
Saturday Zazen Sessions: 7th, 14th, and 28th
Sunday Zen Talk Session: 29th

The March Friday evening zazen meeting and Saturday zazen meeting will be held on the following dates. Sunday Zazen Talk will be held on Sunday the 29th. Please feel free to join us. We look forward to seeing you there.

Please note that the schedule for March will be irregular due to the interregnum. (07:45 for anton (silent meditation), 08:00 for bell ringing, no chanting, no calligraphy).

Zazen will be cancelled for the month of February due to the Seikan holiday, and will resume with an evening zazen session on Friday, March 6.

Once a month on Sunday mornings, we hold a 15-minute zazen session followed by a 30-minute Dharma talk by the head priest in the formal tea room of Kobo-in, a temple of the Rinzai Tenryu-ji school located in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, near Shinjuku. During the tea gathering that follows, the head priest will answer any questions you may have.
The next Sunday Zen Talk will be held on Sunday, July 26.

The Sunday Zen Talk Session in August is scheduled for the 30th.

At the dojo located at Kōho-in in Nakano Ward, Tokyo—just a short distance from Shinjuku—we hold Chokushin’ei-ryū “Hōtei” practice sessions on the second Saturday of every month following the zazen meeting. In October, the session is scheduled to take place after the Saturday zazen meeting on the 10th.

There will be no zazen session on Saturday, March 22. We need to do some work at the dojo, so only samu will be available in the morning.

The next Sunday Zen Talk will be held on August 24. The program includes 15 minutes of zazen followed by a 30-minute Dharma talk by the abbot, followed by a tea party.

Due to the February holiday season, the Friday evening zazen meeting and Saturday zazen meeting will be cancelled, but the Sunday zen talk meeting will be held on Sunday, February 22nd.

The March Sunday Zen talk meeting is scheduled for the 29th.

The June sesshin was held from June 18 to 22, 2025. Six students practiced under the guidance of Master Genryo.
