The Friday evening and Saturday zazen sessions in July will be held on the following dates. In addition, the Sunday Zen talk will be held on the 26th (Sunday). Please feel free to join us. We look forward to seeing you there.

If you’ve ever wanted to try matcha at a tea ceremony but hesitated because you didn’t know the proper etiquette, we’ll explain the basics in the traditional tatami room at Kobo-in Temple in Nakano Ward, Tokyo—just a short distance from Shinjuku. At Kobo-in, we offer tea ceremony lessons as part of our Zen practice. Through a short 10-minute zazen meditation and the tea ceremony etiquette, you’ll experience the importance of focusing on each and every moment of “now.”
After that, please watch a demonstration of the actual thin tea ceremony and enjoy the main sweet and thin tea.

The next Sunday Zen Talk will be held on February 23. Join us on Sunday mornings for light zazen and a Dharma talk to refresh your body and mind, followed by 15 minutes of zazen and a 30-minute Zen talk by the abbot, followed by a tea party. Next month's meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 23.

Once a month on Sunday mornings, we hold a 15-minute zazen session followed by a 30-minute Dharma talk by the head priest in the formal tea room of Kobo-in, a temple of the Rinzai Tenryu-ji school located in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, near Shinjuku. During the tea gathering that follows, the head priest will answer any questions you may have.
The next Sunday Zen Talk will be held on Sunday, June 28.
The July Sunday Zen talk meeting is scheduled for the 26th.

From January 15 to 19, 2025, we held our last winter Ango sesshin. Under the guidance of Master Genryo, five students participated in this year's training.
The next Sunday Zen Talk will be held on August 24. The program includes 15 minutes of zazen followed by a 30-minute Dharma talk by the abbot, followed by a tea party.

The New Year (2025) zazen meetings will begin with a Friday evening zazen session on January 3 and a Saturday zazen session on January 4. We look forward to your participation.
There will be no zazen session on Saturday, March 22. We need to do some work at the dojo, so only samu will be available in the morning.
Due to the February holiday season, the Friday evening zazen meeting and Saturday zazen meeting will be cancelled, but the Sunday zen talk meeting will be held on Sunday, February 22nd.
The March Sunday Zen talk meeting is scheduled for the 29th.
The June sesshin was held from June 18 to 22, 2025. Six students practiced under the guidance of Master Genryo.
From April 16 to 20, 2025, we held the first sesshin for the new system. Under the guidance of Master Genryo, seven students practiced.
